Hola!
How are all of you? I suppose you are in
Prague right now. That’s pretty exciting. I have always thought that would be
an interesting place to visit. Things are good here. But in the sad news
category Lucia and Estuardo left this week. They went back to Zacapa because
Estuardo wouldn’t find work. We were sad to see them leave, but the good news
is they have a family in Zacapa who are members. And in the good news category
Succi came back!
So this week we did divisions twice. I
went to Nahuala. I had heard they spoke Quiche there, but I assumed also
Spanish. Nope.... I pretty much had a translator the whole time. And when I
started to speak in a lesson the investigators told me he didn’t speak
English....errr that was frustrating. But it’s a cool area, for sure one of the
harder ones. It’s set back in the mountains and everywhere you go is hike. The
missionaries there learn a lot.
This week we were able to meet with
Shayla and Hugo again. We had a really great lesson. They really are interested
in the temple. And when we introduced the Book of Mormon, he said “do you sell
that book?” Hermana Raya said “no actually we don’t.” He looked pretty bummed.
Then we told him we were going to give it to them. They had so many questions
they were late to their group prayer thing.
Little miracle yesterday, a member from
another ward stopped us with this friend and said that his friend wanted to be
baptized but she needs to listen to the missionaries first. That was awesome.
We are going today, to visit her.
Yesterday we had the training meeting
for the sisters. The meeting was really great. I think we really focused on
what they need. Hermana Bautista (the Mission President’s wife) talked about
really finding peoples’ needs and giving them a reason to change their lives. The
President talked about obedience and who he machete (this must be a typo. KLD).
But he really talked about as a Bishop and Stake President he found there is
only a small handful of people who are happy and they are those who are
obedient. I see it too; the members here who are happy are those who are obedient.
And that if we can’t learn to be obedient in the mission we won’t after.
Because this is the time that we have to be closest to the Savior.
I made snicker doodles for the meeting…they
turned out good. I think I put too much shorting in but I added more flour and
they turned out tasty.
Also we are going to sing with the
primary in the primary program. It’s pretty fun.
Hope you all have a super great week and
remember to help the missionaries.
Love you!
Hermana Davies
