Buenos Dias!
Sounds like you all had a very fun week! I hope you
have fun today at the movie! I don’t remember if I told you we moved into
our new house last Monday, but it is nice to have our own place. There is a
brand new elder in our area which is nice because it means I’m not the newest
missionary in our area!
Yesterday day the power went out till about 5, which
really wasn’t that big of a deal, but it meant that there was no hot water. We
were just going to pass on taking cold showers because it’s freezing here and
we didn’t want to be freezing and wet. But our landlady saw us on the balcony
and came over and connected a hose to the pila. For some reason the water
coming out of the pila was warm but not the shower. So we ran the hose from the
pila to the shower. The water coming out of the hose was super slow but it was
better than nothing! I really can’t believe how cold I am here, you think
living in Rexburg would have made me tough!
This week was pretty good. Hermana Suliafu got some
sort of stomach flu, which slowed us down a bit but not too much. I really hope
I don’t get sick like that...it seemed pretty awful.
This week we have been trying to find less actives.
There are so many people who don’t come to church who no one knows about.
Yesterday when church started none of our investigators
had come. During the sacrament I was thinking to myself about what I need to do
to be a better missionary, because I just felt like there was something that I
should be doing that I was not. After the sacrament a bunch of people walked
into the chapel. And in came S and M with their mom! I was so happy! Hermana
Suliafu whispered to me "Ah, I was praying so hard during the sacrament
that they would come!" And then I realized that I need to stop thinking
about myself and my inadequacies and focus on the people and we are serving and
I will be a better missionary.
So that is what I am really trying to focus on. Forgetting
myself and going to work.
I hope you are all having a great week!
Love you!
Hermana Davies
