Give your all

Hola! Buenos Dias!

Oh my goodness so much has happened this week! On Tuesday we had a Multi Zone Conference and President Martino of the Quorum of the Seventy came and spoke to us. He was really an amazing person to listen to…truly inspired. He really motivated us to work harder. One of the things he focused on was referrals. And we should never use that word because it scares members. Which is so true! So what we are going to do know is ask if they know anyone who just had a baby, if they know anyone who just lost a family member, or someone who is having challenges with their kids. And if they do, then we just ask them to introduce us. So that is how we are going to be getting our referrals from now on so we don’t scare the members!

Yesterday we went to the house of the two girls from the part member family. It’s been weeks since we have seen the Dad so we didn’t know where he stood with his daughters getting baptized. After we taught the girls a lesson on Tithing and Fast offerings (by the way these girls are so smart you would think they were members) We asked the mom if we could set a firm date for the girls to be baptized on Feb 23rd. Basically she said her daughters were going to be baptized whether he like it or not, but he will be fine with it. I am so excited for these girls to get baptized because they are truly ready and it is the desires of their hearts.

In other news I am officially sick. Since last Thursday I have not been able to keep any food down that members have given us. I finally started denying peoples’ food on Saturday because I was so sick to my stomach. I feel so bad denying peoples’ food. Yesterday at lunch I ate everything but the chicken, which I gave to an Elder. I apologized to the member and explained how I was sick. Her son said, “don’t feel bad cause your gonna feel worse later.” Which was so true ‘cause about 2 blocks away from their house I lost my lunch. We called the nurses and they really didn't help but they said I could go get a test to see if it is parasites. I think I might because from what everyone is saying I think that is what it is.

The other day we were at a member’s house and their dog ran out into the street and started limping. And Hermana Suliafu and I asked the family “what happened to your dog’s leg?” They said “ahh no worries he’s just faking.” They told us that some dogs here pretend they are limping to people have pity on them and give them food. I about died! So now we are on the look out for fake crippled dogs.

Things are great here, other than being sick. We were really inspired this week in our conference. We have a bunch of new people we are teaching and we are working really well with the members, which is such a blessing. I watched a clip about the starving widow who gives her last bit of food to the prophet. Because of her sacrifice to feed the prophet, her oil and grain never runs out. It is the same with our Savior if we give our all to Him he will never leave us and support us through all of our trials. I know he loves us and is just waiting for us to come unto him.

I love and miss you all and hope you have a great week!

Love,
Hermana Davies
