Buenos Dias!
How are you all doing? I am doing fantastico! Yesterday we had Stake Conference and it was so good. The temple president’s wife talked about how we can be a stumbling block for people but how we should be a light for people. President Bautista talked about the Book of Mormon and how it is a necessity in our life. One of the counselors talked about how we need to have Famiyl Home Evening, and the power that it brings to our family. Our branch president organized a bus to take everyone to Xela for the conference. We had a former investigator who is the mom of a member. She mentioned once that she never wanted to go to a church in San Mateo because she doesn’t like the people, regardless if they are Mormon or Evangelicos. Well I thought “church is going to be Xela this week so we will invite her to see if she wants to come.” We passed by her house and told her we had a special conference in Xela on Sunday and she said she would come! The elders didn’t believe us, but you should have seen their faces when she came walking into the Stake Center. I am so glad she was able to go because I think the messages were really for her and the other investigators who came.
I would like to change my answer to what is the most interesting thing that has happened to me in the street. It might be a tie between the lady who told me I shouldn’t wear makeup and I was just here for my boyfriend, or when we ran into the Elders last week. We crossed the freeway when we ran into the Elders and one of them was taking a leak. Not just anywhere but on a member’s house. Right in front of the freeway where all the people can see. Ya, it was priceless.
Yesterday I finished the Book of Mormon. I would say this was the first time I read the Book of Mormon seriously. I have learned so much. One of the things that stood out to me the most is how fast we can fall. The Nephites or any other people would be so righteous, but because of their pride they would fall. I have realized how important it is to do the small and simple things every day. Also I have learned so much about how much Christ loves us. No matter what he is waiting for us to return to Him. His atonement is infinite and his mercy covers all of us. Alma the younger was one of the most wicked people, but even he was forgiven. I know that faith is real and it starts with a desire. Then we act. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it can change our lives if we let it.
I miss you all and hope you are all happy!

5 Questions:
What is your actual street address?
I would also like to know that. One time I asked a member if she knew where 5th street was. She didn’t. Later we found out it was the street behind her house. We live in front of Reina Sanchez and next to the ceradero where they have the horses. Hehehe
2. What is your neighborhood like?
It’s pretty chill; there are lots of kids playing in the street. Our street has houses and little factories where they make metal things. Benjamin is our landlord. I have a feeling the people respect/and are scared of him. So we are pretty safe.
3. Describe the rooms in your apartment.
When you walk into the house you walk into a room we don’t use. Then on the main floor there is the pila (I think pila is sink. KLD) and a bathroom. We have a kitchen and another room we don’t use on the main floor. Upstairs we have our room with a bathroom attached to it. Then we have a another room where we study. The stairs are so small that take you upstairs we had to pull everything for us over the balcony. (I think she means they couldn’t carry furniture up the stairs, so it all had to go over the balcony. KLD)
4. What is your bed like?
I have a great bed because I am the first to use it. It’s just a twin bed but very cozy. I use like four blankets to stay warm at night.
5 What furniture and appliances do you have in your kitchen?
Our kitchen has a plancha which is a wood burning stove which we don’t use. Then we have a little portable two-burner stove thing. A microwave and a little fridge. And they are all new and stainless steel it’s very classy.
Dad I have read The Book Thief. I think it’s in my room. It really is a great book! And no I didn’t wear green yesterday but my backpack is greenish. :)
