Buenas
Dias!
Que
tal? Things here are super good! We had a really good week and met a lot of our
goals! Our lesson went really well with the president. I love his wife. She is
just the sweetest woman. The family didn’t accept to be baptized but the dad
came to conference so that was really awesome!
Last
Monday was really fun. We went to this place called El Rancho. And they had
rock climbing and zip lining. I zip lined…it was really fun! Didn’t know we
were allowed to do stuff like that in the mission but I’m down. The fleas
are still going strong. I’ve washed everything and they’re still here. Not
really sure what to do. I’ve decided there is nothing I really can do. So I
will just come home with really nice legs! Watch out!
I’m
trying to remember what we did this week but I can’t remember anything! Tonight
we are going to make Navajo tacos with a member and an investigator. I’m pretty
excited about that. Conference was really good and we had an investigator come
to two sessions. I was really surprised she came because we invited her the
first time we met her.
The
baptism for S and M is still on! We went and talked with them this week and the
mom really surprised me; she is still planning on the 20th. Last night we had a
really special experience. We just by chance went to a member’s house. And we
came just at the right time. They had some really serious family issues going
on. And the mom and the daughters really needed someone to talk to and a
shoulder to cry on. But I know it wasn’t just by chance that we stopped by. We
had gone to ask if they would go with us to contact a referral we had gotten a
couple of days before. Heavenly Father knew they would need help yesterday but
prepared the way we would come by, just when they needed help.
Something
else I learned last night is the importance of the family and that when one
member is unfaithful it can destroy a family and created distrust and hate. It
was interesting to see how much the conference talks focused on this family’s
issue. I know that the prophets and apostles really receive revelation for the
world. And that when we follow them there is true happiness and safety.
I
love you all and miss you!
Love,
Hermana

5 Questions –
Going to Church
- What is your
church building like?
It’s little. The
chapel is about half the size of a normal chapel. And it has about 6 rooms. It’s
a cream color and has a big metal fence.
- What time do
you meet for church?
9
- How many
people are usually there?
115 to 120
- Who are your
favorite people at church?
The president
and his counselors are pretty funny. But there is a brother who always tries to
teach the Sunday School class for the teacher by sharing things from the Institute
manual.
- What do you
like most about going to church in Guatemala?
Seeing the woman
in corte and how they work with the little resources they have. (I'm not sure what "in corte" means, but I think it means dressed up for church. I think maybe something got lost in the spelling or translation. the Dad)
