Hello!
Buenos
Dias! How are you all doing¿ Things here are great! I guess I should clarify my
¨vacation.” So I had to go to Guatemala City to sign 3 papers and take my pic
in the immigration office. So on Monday we slept in a hotel close to bus
station so we could leave at 3 am! So I set my alarm for 2 am. I woke up and
wondered what time it was....it was 2.55. So I jumped out of bed like a ninja
and woke up the other sister. We hurried and got ready...there was no brushing
of the teeth. When we opened the door, the hallway was pitch black we couldn’t
see anything. So we found our way to the stairs. When we got to the door it was
locked! By this time it was like 3:05. Luckily we found someone to open the
door. As soon as he opened the door we ran like crazy to the bus. It was like a
movie. The other two sisters made it on time but the Elders did not. Go figure.
The trip was fun but super tiring.
This
week we are going to do exchanges with two sets of sisters so it's gonna be a
crazy week. But it should be good.
This
week we got a nice surprise. The Hermanas from Esperanza called us and gave us
a reference of someone they had been teaching. But he lived in our area. He has
received all of the lessons and had a baptismal date for the 10th. It sounded
too good to be true. We went to visit him (Manobo) and he is super prepared.
Yesterday in Gospel Principles he started to share scriptures from the Doctrine
and Covenants and he goes to the temple on his own to read in the gardens. It
is really cool to see people who embrace the gospel and want to learn more.
This
week my comp made fried ice cream for an FHE. It was super tasty.
Yesterday
we had a really special sacrament meeting. There was a baby blessing and the
bishop announced with tears that a Hermana in our ward had passed away. She left
her 5 children and husband. It was amazing to see how the ward is reaching out
to this family. A bunch of people left in a member’s bus to be with the family,
who went to another town for the funeral. I thought about the plan of
salvation, and how it brings peace to our hearts and minds that this is not the
end. That this life is just a moment. Just as we lived with our Heavenly Father
before we were born we will return to live with Him when we pass this life and
if we are faithful we will return with our families.
Love
you all!
Hermana
