Buenos Dias!
How is everybody? Things here are
awesome! Yesterday we had 9 investigadors at church. Amazing!
Myde and her son Lesvin are planning on
getting baptized on the 14th as well as Isabell her cousin. We are also
teaching 3 kids of a less active family. I love this family; their kids are
hilarious and witty. And we are still teaching Brenda. So if all goes well we
will have an amazing miracle on the 14th.
This week we went to the temple with
Myde, and Isabell. It was really a special experience. Myde accepted her baptismal
date. Lesvin who is 9 said, "I can feel God shining in me.” Isabell we
thought was just kind of along for the ride because we didn’t really know her
and hadn’t taught her. But when we left the temple she told us she wanted to be
baptized.
The kids we are teaching are Bryan,
Dustin and Jukmila. They just moved here from Mexico. Their parents were
visiting the temple when Hermano Hector, a brother in our ward, met them. They
were trying to figure out what ward to go to when they met Hermano Hector who
just happens to be their neighbor. Then he called us to let us know we had 3
new investigadors (he called us, not the elders...we work hard on being loved
more then the elders...haha just kidding)
The Elders in our ward are cool but we
had a nice chat with them last night about how it scares us when they talk to
our investigadors at church and then give them their phone number. So I think
we shouldn’t have any more problems with them being too friendly....haha… at
least I hope so.
This week we also had interviews with
President Bautista. I think interviews in the mission are funny because they
only last about 5 min. But something really impacted me that President Bautista
said. He talked about how we need to teach the doctrine of Christ more simply.
We need to teach people more clearly that they need to have faith, repent, be
baptized, and endure to the end. And if we do this we will have more success.
But he also talked about how Heavenly Father wants all of his children to come
home and he is trying everything to get them back. Him saying that really made
me think. God trusts me to help his children come to him and every moment of my
day should be centered on helping my brothers and sisters return to our Father
in Heaven.
I hope you all have a good week!
Les quiero,
Hermana Davies
